Welcome! The decision to begin therapy and the process of finding a therapist can be challenging and frustrating, but ultimately extremely rewarding. I am an experienced and compassionate therapist licensed and based in the state of Maryland. After two decades of working in various mental health settings, I decided to start my private practice to focus on my strengths while helping a wider audience. I use an integrated approach that draws from several different methodologies, including ACT, CBT, mindfulness, trauma focused, internal family systems and person-centered. I work with you to determine which approach will work best for your goals and tailor accordingly.

Trauma + ptsd

Adverse experiences in childhood and adulthood can have repercussions long after the event. These include feeling on edge and fearful, unwelcome memories, difficulty sleeping, and more. Often these symptoms do not resolve on their own and require specialized treatment.


ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIPS

Being in a relationship that is abusive is disorienting, especially when there is no violence or other overt sign that something is wrong. Self-doubts arise and it’s easy in these situations to get stuck in shame.


ANXIETY

Fear, worry, and dread can come and go quickly or remain at a low simmer for days or even weeks. Anxiety is often experienced in the body as agitation, muscle tension, and shallow breathing. I use techniques to reduce these feelings while leaning in to better understand them.


STRESS

Stress is a fact of life for many, but when excessive or prolonged it can lead to feeling overwhelmed, cause difficulty sleeping, short tempers and reactiveness. We don’t function at our best when we’re stressed and it’s easy to blame ourselves for not being able to handle it all.


DEPRESSION

Depression is more than just feeling sad. It is a global disorder impacting mood, energy, sleep, appetite, self-image, and the ability to think, concentrate and experience enjoyment from life. While it may feel intense, depression is treatable.
